I’m Esmayel Nazari, owner of Upscale Painting & Decorating. I founded the company to do residential and commercial work the way I’d always wanted it done, properly prepped, fixed in price, and signed off by me.

I came up through the trade the long way.

I started painting Sydney homes in 2016, apprenticed under tradesmen who’d been doing it for thirty years. The thing they all had in common was prep, you can put any paint on any surface, but if you haven’t prepped properly, you’re painting the same wall twice.

By 2010 I’d moved into the premium residential end, heritage, harbour-side, the homes where the finish gets inspected at arm’s length. In 2016 I registered Upscale under my own NSW Licence and built a team that paints the way I do.

Today we paint across greater Sydney, Mosman, Vaucluse, Surry Hills, Cremorne, the Sutherland Shire, the CBD. I still quote every job in person and walk through the finished work with you before invoicing. That’s the whole point.

The whole job is prep. Anyone can roll paint on a wall. What separates a finish that lasts ten years from one that fails in two is how seriously you take what happens before the first coat.
